About the Lab

Where community, knowledge, and action converge.

Where community, knowledge, and action converge

The Indigenous Futures Research Lab supports community-driven research, digital storytelling, planning, student training, and creative public humanities work. The lab brings together projects in mapping, immersive media, film, sound, zines, theater, Indigenous archaeology, and creative practice.

Our work is grounded in Indigenous futurity, relational accountability, community collaboration, and the belief that futures are made through land, language, story, care, planning, and collective practice.

How we work

We support projects that build skills, create public-facing outputs, and honor community knowledge. Some materials are shared publicly. Other materials may remain summarized, protected, or shared only with specific communities depending on consent, safety, and relational accountability.
